You can also reset your internet modem manually:

 

Note: The equipment pictured is just an example. The steps listed should work correctly for all modem types.

 

 

  1. Turn off your computer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the modem and remove any batteries.

  3. Wait 30 seconds, then place the batteries back in the modem and reconnect the power. (Allow at least two minutes.)
  4. The modem connection lights will be solid (not blinking).
  5. Turn on your computer.
  6. Try visiting your two favorite websites to make sure that you're connected to the internet.

  1. Turn off your computer.

  3. Unplug the power cord from the router.

  4. Wait 30 seconds, then place the batteries back into the modem and reconnect the power. (Allow at least two minutes.)
  5. The lights on the modem will be solid (not blinking).
  6. Reconnect the power to the router. (Allow at least two minutes.)
  7. Turn on your computer.
  8. Try visiting your two favorite websites to make sure that you're connected to the internet.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the modem/router combined device and remove any batteries.

  3. Wait 30 seconds, then reinsert any batteries and reconnect the power to the modem/router combo.
  4. Wait two minutes to allow the modem/router combo to connect.
  5. Turn on your computer.
  6. Try visiting your two favorite websites to make sure that you're connected to the internet.
