The following information will help you connect your PSP to your wireless network.

To get started, verify the WLAN switch is ON.

Note: The PSP is only compatible with the 802.11b wireless standard. Learn more.

 

  1. Select Settings, then Network Settings.

  2. Select Infrastructure Mode.

  3. Select New Connection.
  4. Select Scan. The system will search for nearby access points.
  5. Select your SSID (Network Name).

  6. Select the type of security that you use: None, WEP, WPA-PSK (TKIP), WPA-PSK (AES).

  7. Enter wireless password.
  8. Select Easy.
  9. Enter a name for the connection.
  10. Confirm the list of settings.

  11. Press the X button on your controller to save your settings.
  12. Select Test Connection.
  13. Confirm the connection test results. If the connection is successful, information about the network connection is displayed.

    If the connection test fails, follow the on-screen instructions to check the settings. Network settings for the connection can be changed from the Options Menu.

    Depending on the access point settings, you may need to enter the system's MAC address (serial number) to connect to the network. The system's MAC address (serial number) can be checked under Settings > System Settings > System Information.
