The following information will help you set up and use the voicemail feature from your home phone. Use the quick links below to navigate to a section of your choice.

 
 

Voicemail Setup

Voicemail allows callers to leave you a message when you're unable to answer the phone or are away from home. To access your voice messages remotely, you'll need to create and enter a four-digit numeric PIN.

You can set up your voicemail online using Voice Online Manager. Learn how.

After you've set up your voicemail, you can turn it off and on at any time using Voice Online Manager. You cannot turn the feature off or on using your telephone handset.

You can also set up voicemail using your home phone:

  1. Dial *99.
  2. Follow the prompts to create a four-digit numeric PIN.
  3. When instructed, record your personal greetings and customize your mailbox options.
Note: Your PIN can't contain any sequential digits of your phone number, any sequential numbers or more than two repetitive numbers.

To reset or change your PIN from your home phone:

  1. Enter *99. If the Skip PIN feature is turned OFF, you'll need to enter your PIN.
  2. Press 4 followed by 3 for Security Options.
  3. Press 1 to change your PIN.

Manage Voicemail

Access Previous Voicemail System

When your Spectrum Voice service is upgraded, you can listen to and save any unheard messages recorded on your previous voicemail system.

To access your previous voicemail system:

  1. From your home phone, dial *98. If the Skip PIN feature is OFF, you'll need to enter your PIN.
  2. Press 1 to listen to your messages.

Access Upgraded Voicemail System

After you've activated your voicemail, you can access your messages through Voice Online Manager or by using your home phone:

  1. Enter *99. If the Skip PIN feature is OFF, you'll need to enter your PIN.
  2. Press 1 to listen to messages.

To listen to messages from another phone:

  1. Enter your 7- or 10-digit home telephone number.
  2. Press * when you hear your voicemail greeting.
  3. Whem prompted, enter your PIN followed by #.
  4. Press 1 to listen to your messages.
If you want to save a message forever, press 2 2 to mark the message as unheard and save indefinitely.

Enhanced Voicemail Options

 

Readable Voicemail

The Readable Voicemail feature can send you an audio file and full text transcription of your received voicemail via email.

  • Set up Readable Voicemail through Voice Online Manager Learn more   .
  • You can activate up to five email addresses to receive Readable Voicemail.
  • Voicemail transcription is available in either English or Spanish, based on the caller's language.
  • If you don't want to receive a voicemail transcription at a particular email address, delete that email address from the Readable Voicemail page or turn the feature off.

Send Messages

You can forward or reply to messages using your telephone. You can only send messages to other Spectrum Voice customers with upgraded service.

To send messages from your home phone:

  1. From your home phone, dial *99. If the Skip PIN feature is OFF, you'll need to enter your PIN.
  2. Press 2 and follow the prompts to send messages.

To send messages from another phone:

  1. Dial your 7- or 10-digit home telephone number.
  2. Press * when you hear your voicemail greeting.
  3. When prompted, enter your PIN followed by #.
  4. Press 2 and follow the prompts to send messages.

Send Messages

 

Erased Messages

You can retrieve or recover erased messages within 24 hours. Otherwise, they'll expire. You can permanently delete messages to manually free up mailbox storage space.

To manage erased messages from your home phone:

  1. Dial *99. If the Skip PIN feature is OFF, you'll need to enter your PIN.
  2. Press 6 and follow the prompts to access erased messages.

To manage erased messages from another phone:

  1. Dial your 7- or 10-digit home telephone number.
  2. Press * when you hear your voicemail greeting.
  3. When prompted, enter your PIN followed by #.
  4. Press 6 and follow the prompts to access erased messages.

Voicemail Greetings

Once you've set up voicemail, set up voicemail, you can create a personalized voicemail greeting for all missed calls or different greetings for different call handling situations. Callers will hear a default greeting if you don?t record your own.

You can record greetings through Voice Online Manager   on a microphone-enabled computer or use the handset and follow the steps below.

To work with greetings from your home phone:

  1. Dial *99. If the Skip PIN feature is OFF, you'll need to enter your PIN.
  2. Press 3 and follow the prompts to work with greetings.

To work with greetings from another phone:

  1. Dial your 7- or 10-digit home telephone number.
  2. Press * when you hear your voicemail greeting.
  3. When prompted, enter your PIN followed by #.
  4. Press 3 and follow the prompts to work with greetings.

If a caller wants to skip your greeting and go directly to your voicemail, they can press ###

Voicemail Settings

  • Using your home phone, enter *99 and your PIN, then select the menu option of your choice.
  • If you're using another phone, enter your 7- or 10-digit telephone number and press * when you hear your voicemail greeting. When prompted, enter your PIN followed by #. Then select the menu option of your choice.
