You can schedule a recording on your DVR from anywhere using Spectrum.net or the Spectrum TV app.

Note: At this time, record functionality is only available on Arris, Motorola and Pace Spectrum Receivers.

Schedule a Recording on Spectrum.net

  1. Sign in to Spectrum.net. Hover over or tap Watch TV and then select Guide.
  2. Navigate through the Guide and select the title you want to record.
  3. Choose your DVR from the dropdown menu, select Record and set your recording preferences.
Note: Make your DVR easy to find. Learn how to name your receivers and set a default device.

Schedule a Recording on the Spectrum TV App

  1. Sign in to the Spectrum TV app.
  2. Select the Guide icon at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Scroll left, right, up or down to view all available TV listings.
  4. Choose a program and then select Record.
Note: You can select which DVR your recorded programs are saved to by selecting Settings > Devices. You can also rename your devices in the Spectrum TV app to easily differentiate between multiple receivers or DVRs registered to your account.

Troubleshooting

Note: At this time, record functionality is only available on Arris, Motorola and Pace receivers.

If you're having trouble scheduling a remote DVR recording, first verify:

  • You're scheduling your recording on a Motorola, Arris or Pace DVR.
  • The guide below is used in your home.

  • Your DVR is on and tuned to live TV with no menus or guides displaying. If your DVR is Off, it won't schedule any recordings.
  • It's been at least 36 hours since the installation of your DVR.

Update Your Spectrum Receiver

If you're still experiencing issues you can try updating your receiver:

  1. Press the Menu button on your remote control once.
  2. Navigate to APPS and press OK/Select.

  1. Select TV App Update and you will see a loading icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your TV screen. When the loading icon disappears, your update is complete.

  1. Unplug your receiver for 15 seconds, then plug it back in. When it's finished reloading, you should be able to schedule a recording within 30 minutes.
Note: If you've already tried this or if your receiver doesn't need this update and you perform the update again, no loading icon will appear.
