My Account

My Account provides your account number and information on your Spectrum equipment, including make, model and more.

You can access My Account by tuning to channel 2401 in the guide.

 

Note: If you have recently rebooted your receiver, it may take up to 31.5 hours for channel 2401 to return.

General Settings

To access General Settings:

  1. Press the Menu button on your remote to open Quick Settings.
  2. Select More Settings or press A to open the General Settings menu.

Aspect Ratio Settings

To adjust the aspect ratio for non-DVR receivers:

  1. Open the General Settings menu.
  2. Select My Preferences, then Video Aspect Ratio preferences.
  3. Scroll to the TV Type column.
  4. Select Standard (4:3) or Widescreen (16:9) to match the type of TV connected to your receiver.
  5. Scroll to the Picture Settings column, then select:
  • Standard:
    1. Squeeze (16:9) Picture
    2. Letterbox (16:9) Picture
    3. Zoom (16:9) Picture
  • Widescreen:
    1. Stretch (4:3) Picture
    2. Sidebar (4:3) Picture
    3. Zoom (4:3) Picture
  1. Press the Exit button on your remote control to return to live programming.

 

To adjust the aspect ratio for Spectrum DVR receivers:

  1. Open the General Settings menu.
  2. Select Audio/Video, then Video Aspect Ratio.
  3. Scroll to the TV Type column.
  4. Select Standard (4:3) or Widescreen (16:9) to match the type of TV connected to your receiver.
  5. Scroll to the Picture Settings column, then select:
    • Standard:
      1. Squeeze (16:9) Picture
      2. Letterbox (16:9) Picture
      3. Zoom (16:9) Picture
  • Widescreen:
    1. Stretch (4:3) Picture
    2. Sidebar (4:3) Picture
    3. Zoom (4:3) Picture
  1. Press the Exit button on your remote control to return to live programming.

Messages

Spectrum sends messages to announce new services, special promotions or other important information. If you receive a message, an envelope icon will appear in the upper-left hand corner of your TV screen, and a red light will appear on your receiver.

To view Messages:

  1. Press the Menu button on your remote control, then select the Menu category.
  2. Select Messages, then scroll through the list of your messages.
  3. Press the A button to open and read a message of your choice.
  4. Press the B button to delete a message.
  5. Press the Exit button to return to live programming.

Program Details

Brief descriptions for featured programming can be found in the Guide. To access information while watching a program, press the Info button on your remote control to display the channel banner. Press the Info button a second time to access additional program information such as program length, type and rating.

The PAGE +/- icon will appear if there are multiple screens of information. Use the Right arrow button to view upcoming programming details on the same channel, or the Up and Down arrows to view programming details on other channels. You can do this without leaving the channel you're watching.

Clock Display

To change the clock display settings on your receiver:

  1. Open the General Settings menu.
  2. Select Accessories, then scroll to the Set-top Clock option.
  3. Use the Right Arrow button on your remote to access the Options column.
  4. Select Display or Illumination.
  5. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete Clock Display setup.
  6. Press the Exit button on your remote to return to live programming.

SAP and DVS

Secondary Audio Programming (SAP) service provides an alternate audio track in another language for available programming.

Descriptive Video Service (DVS) narration describes the action of a scene and is designed to make programs more accessible to visually impaired viewers. DVS is only available on select channels and during select programming.

Note: You won't be able to utilize SAP and DVS at the same time. If the program you're viewing doesn't include the SAP service for your preferred language, you may hear no audio.

Enable/Disable SAP and DVS

SAP and DVS are enabled/disabled in the same way.

  1. Press the Menu button on your remote twice to open Quick Settings.
  2. Use the Up or Down arrows to highlight the Play Secondary Audio option.
  3. Use the Right and Left arrows to select Yes to enable or No to disable SAP.
  4. Press Exit or the C button to return to live programming.

The SAP feature can also be managed by pressing the Menu button twice on your remote control to access Quick Settings.

Note: Not all programs will have a secondary audio track for all languages. In these cases, you'll hear a slight audio delay and then the default program audio will play. Some channels will place a video description audio track on the Spanish track.

Power Management Settings

  1. Open the General Settings menu.
  2. Select Accessories, then Power Manager Preferences.
  3. Scroll to the Options column, then select Hard Drive Power or Settop Power.
  4. Scroll to the State column.
  5. If you selected Settop Power management, choose one of the following:
  • Auto Power Off: The receiver will power off automatically after 4 hours of inactivity.
  • Power Off Manually: You'll need to turn the receiver off manually.
  1. If you selected Hard Drive Power management, choose one of the following:
  • Always On:  Power to the hard drive will always remain on.
  • On with Set-top:  Power to the hard drive will turn off one minute after the receiver turns off.
  1. Press the Exit button on your remote to return to live programming.

HD Auto Tune

High Definition (HD) Auto Tune automatically tunes customers to the available HD version of a selected program. If you have an HD receiver and an SD TV, you will need to turn off the HD Auto Tune feature in order to get the proper picture on the SD channel. Learn more.

To enable/disable HD Auto Tune:

  1. Open the General Settings menu.
  2. Select My Preferences, then Auto-tune to HD.
  3. Scroll to the Status column, then select On or Off.
  4. Press the Exit button on your remote control to return to live programming.

Caller ID on TV

To manage Caller ID on TV settings:

  1. Press the Menu button on your remote.
  2. Scroll to Apps, then select Caller ID on TV to manage the following settings:
  • Notification: Turn CIDTV On or Off.
  • Location: Select Top or Bottom to designate where the Caller ID alert will display on your TV screen.
  • Duration: Determines how long incoming call alerts remain on the television screen.
  • Snooze: Prevents Caller ID alerts from displaying onscreen for a specific amount of time. Once the time has lapsed, CIDTV automatically begins displaying alerts again.
  • View Call Log: Review the 30 most recent incoming calls received. Call information will be stored even when CIDTV is turned off.
  • Exit: Closes the Caller ID Settings screen.
  • About: Displays the version of CIDTV software your receiver is currently using.

Closed Captioning

Closed captioning displays the audio portion of a program as text on your TV screen. Learn more.

To turn closed captions on or off:

  1. Open the General Settings menu. 
  2. Select Language, then Closed Captioning
  3. Scroll to the Options column, then select On/Off
  4. Scroll to the States column to turn Closed Captions On or Off.
  5. Return to the Options column to manage additional closed captioning settings. 
  6. Press the Exit button on your remote control to return to live programming.
Note: Closed captioning can also be managed by pressing the Menu button twice on your remote control to access Quick Settings. Closed captioning (CC) is the first menu option, followed by SAP options.

Recording

Use the REC button on your remote control to record the show you're currently watching on TV, record an entire series or create a manual recording. Follow the onscreen prompts to manage your recording preferences.

Recordings can also be scheduled through the Guide:

  1. Press the GUIDE button on your remote.
  2. Highlight the current or future program you'd like to record.
  3. Press the REC button on your remote, then select:
  1. If you select Record this series, follow the onscreen prompts to set your recording preferences.
  2. Press the A button on your remote to complete the process, then Exit.

To review a list of your Scheduled Recordings, press the My DVR button twice or open the Quick Menu and select DVR.

Note: Scheduled Recordings will occur even when the DVR is off.

Record in Standard Definition

Scheduled recordings will default to the HD channel if HD Auto Tune is On. However, HD recordings use more of your DVR storage capacity. To save disk space, select Record in Standard Definition when scheduling a recording.

Note: If you're recording an entire series, select SD Only in recording preferences.

Record Programs by Cast

You also have the option to record programs based on cast members:

  1. Press the GUIDE button on your remote.
  2. Highlight the title of your choice.
  3. Press the INFO button on your remote, then select Cast & Credits.
  4. Highlight the names and press OK/SELECT on your remote to open the recording options.
  5. Highlight one of the following options:
  • Record all matching shows.
  • Record all matching movies.
  • List upcoming shows.
  1. Press OK/SELECT on your remote to return to live programming.

Recording Lost and Found

The Lost and Found feature allows you to view and retrieve recordings that may have been canceled or deleted. This feature is available on most receivers with your guide update.

Note: Not all recordings can be recovered if deleted or canceled.

To access your DVR Lost and Found:

  1. Press the MY DVR button on your remote twice, then select Lost and Found
  2. Use the Directional Arrows on your remote to highlight a title and view information about why it wasn't recorded or when it was deleted from your DVR. 
  3. Press the A button on your remote to sort titles. 
  4. Highlight the program you want to recover, then select one of the following options:
  • Save until space is needed.
  • Save until manually erased. 
  • Clear show now.
  • Clear recording now.
  • List upcoming shows.
  1. Press the Exit button on your remote to return to live programming.

Cancel a Recording

  1. Press the GUIDE button on your remote.
  2. Highlight the title that's scheduled to be recorded. 
  3. Press the REC button on your remote, then: 
  • If the program has already started, select Stop this recording.
  • If the program is scheduled to be recorded in the future, select Cancel this recording or Cancel this series.
  1. Press the Exit button on your remote to return to live programming.

Manage Recordings

Group Titles

Grouping titles allows you to organize Series Recordings into folders.

To group titles:

  1. Press the My DVR button on your remote to open Recorded Shows.
  2. Press the A button on your remote to view sorting options, then select Group Titles
  3. All Series Recordings with identical titles will be saved in the same folder. 
  4. Press the Exit button on your remote to return to live programming.

Delete Recordings

  1. Press the My DVR button on your remote to open Recorded Shows.
  2. Highlight the program or folder (grouped recordings) you'd like to delete.
  3. Select Erase and follow the prompts to confirm your decision.

DVR Storage

To view your DVR disk space:

  1. Press the MY DVR button on your remote control.
  2. Press the A button on your remote to open the Saved Shows options. 
  3. Select View Disk Info to see the amount of disk space in use.
  4. Press the C button your remote to return to the Saved Shows list, then Exit.

External Hard Drive Storage

An external hard drive increases the recording capacity of your DVR beyond the device's internal storage capability. Learn more.

Manage Favorites

The Favorites feature allows you to quickly access your favorite channels.

To add Favorite Channels:

  1. Open the General Settings menu.
  2. Select My Preferences, then Favorite Channels.
  3. Scroll to the Channels column, then highlight the channel you wish to mark as a favorite.
  4. Press the OK/Select button on your remote to Add Channel to your Favorites.
  5. Press the Exit button on your remote to return to live programming.

You can use the FAV button on your remote to quickly tune to channels that have been added to your Favorites list.

On Demand

Spectrum On Demand gives you instant access to over 10,000 movies and shows. You can browse programs by theme or search by Title or Keyword.

To access On Demand:

  1. Tune to Channel 1, or press the OnDemand button on your remote.
  2. Use the Up and Down arrows to view available programs and categories.
  3. Press OK/Select on your remote to choose a program.

Purchasing On Demand Content

To purchase a title, press the Select button or the B button. Once the purchase has been confirmed, press the Play button on your remote to begin watching.
