The following information will help you use Security Suite's virus-scan options. A virus scan may take several minutes to complete. If malware is found, the Security Suite software will attempt to clean your computer. Use the quick links below to navigate to a section of your choice.

Perform a Virus and Spyware Scan

  1. Open Security Suite.
  2. Select the Antivirus tab and then choose Virus scan.

  1. After the scan is finished, select View scanning report to see a list of found and removed viruses.

  1. Select Close to exit.

Perform a Full Computer Scan

A Full Computer Scan will scan all of your files and folders for viruses, spyware and other suspicious items.

  1. Open Security Suite.
  2. Select Tools, then Virus scan options.

  1. Select Full computer scan from the dropdown menu.
  2. After the scan has finished, Security Suite will show any Harmful items found.
  3. Select Handle all to remove those found and clean your computer.

  1. You'll then be prompted to Restart your computer to finish cleaning harmful items. Note: Before restarting, you can select View Scanning Report to view the results of the virus scan.

Manual Scanning

You can adjust what files Security Suite scans:

  1. Open Security Suite.
  2. Select the Antivirus tab and then Settings.
  3. Select Manual scanning from the options listed on the left.

  1. Enable the scanning options of your choice.
  2. Select OK to finish and close.

Scheduling a Scan

You can schedule Security Suite to scan and remove viruses from your computer at regular intervals.

To schedule a scan:

  1. Open Security Suite.
  2. Select the Antivirus tab and then Settings.
  3. Select Scheduled Scanning from the options on the left.

  1. Specify when you want the virus scan to run, then select OK.

Database Updates

Security Suite automatically updates and scans your computer for viruses or other malicious software. Database Updates provides a list of the date and time of the last update.
